Comments Thread For: David Haye Focused on Recovery, Not a Ring Return

David Haye insists he is solely focused on trying to fully recover from shoulder surgery rather than making any decision about his boxing future.

The former WBA heavyweight champion has been advised by doctors to seriously consider hanging up his gloves after undergoing a five-hour operation in Germany last week to reconstruct his right shoulder.

However, Haye, who had been due to fight domestic rival Tyson Fury in February, is concentrating on getting a clean bill of health and not on whether or not he will retire from the sport.

****ing David has become so fragile.

After the Wlad toe performance and this, I really am pissed with him.

Maybe since that incident he doesn't want to fight unless 100% but ****ing

If anyone thought David Haye was going to retire they are delusional

He'll be back end of 2014 to fight Vitali, the Fury fight will happen soon after that

Way tooo much money to be made for him to let a shoulder injury end his career

naaa,,,I think hes done. his motivation was already questionable before the injuries. id be very surprised if he makes it back to the ring. would have felt a lot worse for him if he didn't talk so much trash before the wlad fight and then blame is bad performance on his toe and then retire briefly. it is a damn shame tho becuz he did have good talent and is relatively young

I am not haye's fan by any mean, but I believe the injury is legit and quite serious. I wish for david to retire from boxing and have a normal healthy life.

I would like Haye to retire, his career hasn't been at all impressive since he beat Mormeck.had he have retired then he would have been remembered fondly, but he has soured his reputation with these silly antics about retiring on his 31st birthday,to then return a couple of times before citing more dubious injuries.I think we all know Haye won't stay retired long, but this theme is getting old now, injured toe, retire, injured shoulder retire, what injury after Vitali Klitscjko knock him out ?

I agree with you. I don't like haye personally but to think he faked those injuries is just ludicrous
