by Cliff Rold - The final scene of Raging Bull could be seen as a parallel. Robert DeNiro, in his role as former Middleweight Champion Jake LaMotta, prepares for a night on stage. He practices the part of his show where he will recite Marlon Brando’s famous monologue from On The Waterfront while he sucks on his cigar. Quietly, he ties his bow tie and heads for the stage.

It’s not meant as an uplifting end.

For Mike Tyson, Undisputed Truth has proven to be just that.

Last Saturday night, viewers were treated to a reunion between Spike Lee and Tyson on HBO. Their last pairing of note, the pre-fight piece prior to Tyson’s fight with Alex Stewart, remains some two decades later one of the most provocative and fascinating pieces of its kind ever made. Their new collaboration was equally fascinating.

It’s one cog of a trifecta of Tyson projects in 2013 that have put the once baddest man in the planet firmly back in the public light. The one-man show, and prior to that Fox Sports 1’s outstanding Being: Mike Tyson, gave us a snapshot of a champion at rest without resting. [Click Here To Read More]

Mike Tyson is mentally sick and deranged

Mike Tyson does not deserve any publicity as this Tyson felon rapist drug addicted alcoholic will hurt some innocent person in the near future. Tyson is filled with a hate that overwhelms him and is undeserving of any attention. Tyson belongs locked up and put away from decent clean living pure Americans. Society has no place for Mike Tyson only prison.

that was harsh. Tyson did his time and deserves another chance. it seems like hes doing the right things now. he was brought up in a tough environment that most of us couldn't imagine

Mike Tyson is not made for public performance

Tyson is a stick of dynamite ready to detonate at any second on society. Mike admits he is suicidal and not mentally ready for life. So why glorify this maniac sick demented empty shell of a human being? protect society and the innocent decent folks and lock Tyson away.

He's still a more productive human being than you. Current Mike Tyson is a much better person right now. Dude was one of the main reasons the Heavyweight Division was a huge draw in the late 1980's and mid 1990's.

So, are you making these ridiculous comments to fuel your own sick desire for entertainment through the retorts you expect? Or do you actually believe the crap you are spewing? Either way, I believe society has more to fear from clowns like you than it ever will from Tyson.

Just because people have messed up in their respective past or grew up under rough conditions, does not mean they don't deserve to be part of society. If that were the case, 90 percent of the population should be behind bars, according to you. Tyson been through more than you ever could dream of, have respect for the champ trying to change his life

I was waiting for your review before buying, Cliff. Sounds like it's a good book so I'll grab a copy this weekend.

The Pac-Rios undercard is indeed horrible. But it's rare for Top Rank to put together a stacked ppv so that is par for the course.

Froch vs. Groves might end up being the best fight of the week. Not expecting Rios to be able to do much against Pacquiao.
