Who, other than Floyd is in The Money Team? Why doesn't he just create a Mayweather brand and start selling stuff based on his name and accomplishments?

For a man who is exceptional at selling and hyping his events, the man has no clue wrt business.
Mayweather is perhaps the greatest business man ever. He went from pretty boy making peanuts to money may and signed the biggest deal in sports. Even more astonishing is that his whole product is 12 round decisions, in uncompetitive fights.

floyd is brilliant at playing the heel to sell tickets to these mismatches.

yeah floyd is a horrible businessman

        http://******.craveonline.com/blog/1...ce-250-million

An online report by Forbes' Magazine estimates that pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s recently-announced, exclusive multi-fight venture with Showtime and its parent company, CBS Corporation, could be worth a guaranteed $250,000 million.

Just think what he could have earnt had he not punked out of fighting Manny 4 years ago! He's done very well for himself, but the best businessman in the world? These kind of platitudes are beyond cringeworthy.

Yes he dodged Pac but arguably made more $$$.

The Pac fight was 60/40 (in terms of who would win the fight) and Floyd was petrified of losing his 0. Instead he dodged and served up numerous mismatches and made 20-40m each time with boring 12 rounders and by default took the p4p title with this safe strategy.

He has even convinced people that Pac never had a chance which is ludicrous.

Hopefully Pac comes out strong vs. Rios and the public demand Floyd vs Pac as there is no one else close at 147 (lol khan).

I would love to see Floyd in a competitive fight (ie. Pac, or Martinez/GGG at 154) but it is unlikely as he values his zero over his legacy.

You have no idea what they would've earned.

There would've been a lot of hands out for that 50/50 split of a fight

Not exactly, but we are talking about what would most definitely have been the highest grossing fight of all time so its fair to say a damn sight more than he has done(unless he happened to lose to Manny, which I dont think he would have).

Yes it is that risk of loss which would have severly damaged earning potential. The fight would have been very competitive the most since Floyd DLH and the betting odds were reflecting that.

A close loss would have increased it, so its a double derp.

I think it would've done around 3 million buys.

A lot of money sure, but when you consider Delahoya/Mayweather did 2.4 and it was all in-house and they still "only" split arund 75 mill between eachother. Double that and you're still giving half to the distributors, etc. in the end and to 2 promoters.

Anyways, arguing about millions of dollars for others has just made me a tad ill so apologies for this post
