It would do very well because both Floyd and Hop are good at selling fights but oh the poor casual fan who doesn't know any better about the snoozer he would be watching.

Hopkins would have to lure Mayweather into a brawl to have a legitimate shot at winning. I don't see that happening. This fight would do well on pay-per-view but Mayweather would win an easy and boring decision just by doing what he does so well.

Hopkins is one of my favorite fighters, he's a tough son of a gun but if this fight actually took place (which it won't) Mayweather would win at least 9 rounds of it.

Really? Floyd is much smaller with a smaller reach, how's he gona jab Hops or land that right hand? To do that, he'll have to jump in and out of range, leaving himself open for big shots against Hops, who hits hard compared to a welterweight. If Hops was healthy at 160, he'd beat Floyd, no questions, maybe even stop him.

Floyd has much faster reflexes. Hopkins will have problems landing, just like almost all of those who fight Mayweather. Floyd will land his right hand with ease once he times it like he always does.

You make a good argument, but I'll politely disagree because of the reasons listed above.

Hell's yeah the numbers would be very good, them two would sell the fight a treat, they know what they're doing.

Casuals will hate it, peeps who 'know' will appreciate their skills/traps and what they're doing, i don't see much trading going on imo (if the fight did happen), 1,2 shots at a time from both guys, most of the bout i feel would be quite dull unless someone just goes for it (more likely b-hop being bigger, though 160 might drain him, never know)

I'd rather see floyd vs a sexy sergio or a ggg or 'son of fog' at 160 much more tbh.

This is wasted post really, floyds probably gonna fight khan/garcia/alexander/re-match cotto-canelo winner, two of them four in his next two bouts imo....

floyd vs hopkins is the biggest fight floyd could make right now, outside of a manny fight.

it would be much bigger than a fights with: khan, alexander, broner, garcia, etc

hopkins-floyd in may, with khan-garcia 2 on the undercard,, that would be sweet

Would be an awesome card indeed, i'd still prefer ward or ggg or martinez at 160 for floyd personally...... From a money aspect floyd/hops would be the biggest money spinner of all.....i think...
