Well adding nationality to race would vastly over complicate things. If nationality was a part of race then due to my heritage my race would be American italian British French and Irish. So I guess I have 5 different racial groups that I belong to.

And thus lies the beauty in a good debate, because when I was in school this separation of Nationality and race was not taught.

In fact for primary school back then in Cali, Mexican was a choice for race on the school registration form.

I have very good friends born in Puerto Rico and they consider themselves white or mixed so apparently not only America classifies race.
