Ok, finalized Ward-Rodriguez ratings on HBO: average was 1,029,333 viewers. Their average for the main event was 1,191,000. #boxing

So yeah, 1 million average viewers for the $3.2 million license fee is embarrassingly awful.

This is in line with what Ward did with Dawson.

So the Ward fight actually got more viewers than it's lead in?

You can't really believe that? Mike Tyson had an exciting style and he could be fighting a bum nobody ever herd of and who stood ZERO chance of even going a round and he would still draw massive numbers. If Ward had an exciting style he would do better numbers end of. Obv opponents etc help so I get what u are saying there but opponents/layoffs etc are only a part of the picture. His style, which makes for far from riveting tv is the other.

If that was the case B-Hop would not still be getting TV Dates and decent Pay Days

Just to destroy your Mike Tyson theory (because I can!), Mike Tyson was a heavyweight after a stale ERA of Larry Holmes and Spinks in the Heavyweight Division, American Fans was just happy to be excited about an American Heavyweight at the time also not many is better than Don King at making SUPERSTARS IN BOXING, Don King did a MASTERFUL JOB selling Mike Tyson because it was no way Tyson could sell himself

Don King also help Build Chavez Sr and Trinidad into MEGA DRAWS!

If it was SIMPLY about STYLE like some of you love to say than how come none of these KO Artist/Brawlers are PPV Stars or Draws and have YET to headline a PPV? But yet their styles Draw so well Right? LMFAO

You know what Sell the Most? BIG MATCH UPS! More so than "STYLE". Put #1 vs #2 in the ring and people will match more so that #1 fighting a overhyped #4 or #5 guy in his Division

I respect Ward but I just can't get excited for his fights. He dominates but it's not even like "ohhhhh look at the smooth boxing" It's ugly to watch.

You know it's bad when B Hop has the more exciting fights as of late.
