Comments Thread For: Grove: Froch Has Never Been The Best, I Can School Him

George Groves believes he has the measure of Carl Froch ahead of their clash for Froch’s WBA and IBF World Super Middleweight titles at the sold-out Phones 4u Arena in Manchester on Saturday (November 23), live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Unbeaten Groves fights in his first World title contest in the North West, as Froch dons the gloves for his 11th fight in a row with a coveted strap on the table. ‘The Saint’ has been bullish in the build-up and has been awarded victory by many in the verbal battle between him and the champ – and the popular Londoner says the time is right for him to defeat Froch.

I think Groves may have gotten into Froch's head a little, with all of this pre fight banner. It seems as if he knows just the right topics to bring up in order to get under Froch's skin, everyone knows Froch has a some what distorted view of just where he rates in boxing. He also likes to pretend that the Ward lost was a fluke because of venue, preparation, etc.

People forget Froch is not very good against mobile targets. He clearly lost to Dirrell and was very lucky against Taylor. Groves has enough movement to get away from shots and packs power in both hands. When Froch makes a mistake he will get punished and so anything can happen in this fight. Froch will probably try to come and overwhelm Groves but when he misses and gets punished he will get frustrated.

I can't wait for this fight.

I really don't see anything special in Groves, I don't see any situation where Groves could win this fight, He's going to 100% try to fight this fight like he fought Degale except Froch knows how to close the ring down and has a hell of a lot more power than Degale, If Degale can manage to bust Groves up with the little power he has Froch will have him looking unrecognizable, Froch to win by ko between rounds 3-5 or it goes the distance and Froch wins a UD.

Ok I can't take this anymore.....

                  Really.......Taylor was mobile?...........If there's one thing Taylor isn't it's mobile........

I love boxing but one thing I notice about all boxing forums is people say things without thinking it through.

The fact still remains that Froch is 35,and has fought one of the toughest schedules in boxing over the last several years. His style also doesn't lend itself to longevity and that granite chin, that he so heavily relies upon showed a little vulnerability in his last fight. In saying all of this I still think Froch should and deserves to be favored to win this fight, but its far from a sure thing.
