Sergio Mora has been calling out the entire world for the past 5 years at least. Neither network had given him the time of day. Why do you suppose this has anything to do with GGG, and not their general disinterest in Mora? Stevens called out GGG as well, but at least you had a vocal minority here that believed in his chances of winning, by KO no less.

Networks generally don't go for ugly style matchups where the underdog has 0 chance of winning. I just gave you some examples.

Mora was a former world champion who headlined a ppv with mosely!,stevenson was just loud and had sum good ko's,he had beaten nobody to get on hbo so why did stevens deserve it but mora doesnt?

GGG is a rising star…but he isn't Ward yet…they are both building their careers and Ward is simply further along..he's fought the better opposition and been dominant vs them…he got through the Super 6 that man didn't think he'd be able to do…many thought he'd be too green and unproven…

Ward is top 3 P4P and GGG's making headlines by knocking out guys that aren't on the level of Ward's opposition…eventually GGG will get there with a couple more wins, but vs threatening opposition..

then the fight will be bigger…now I am all for simply making the compelling fights happing right away vs letting it "marinate"…but I understand wanting to maximize the fight by having both fighters on similar levels

Ward is a pathetic coward. He is using the ducking technique Floyd used with Pac, keep postponing the fight hoping he suffers a loss in the meantime and then use that as an excuse to somehow prove he is not on your level lol. No respect for Son Of Hugging, the biggest fraud in the P4P list. (And I dont like Floyd but you won't see me complaining about his P4P status despite of how I think he ducked Pac)

An ugly, non KO win against a guy that calls you out makes HBO's "most avoided" push look questionable and undermines if not totally refutes the "GGG top 5 p4p" crap. HBO could potentially lose fans at a time when his base is growing. This fight likely wouldn't fit into HBO's "action" and "excitement" overall marketing/promotional theme.

SMart business move, no question. But instead, let him fight Mora in an ugly mess and then if Sergio still doesn't want it-go for froch and then ward. Then we'll see if he is "top 5 p4p".

I'm a Golovkin fan, but I'm a bigger Ward fan and I'm really hoping GGG ends up being Ward's version of the Trinidad fight for Hopkins, because that's exactly what Ward would do to Golovkin.
