Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury Targets Deontay Wilder Clash For Feb. 8

Tyson Fury has targeted American knockout specialist Deontay Wilder as his next opponent following the cancellation of his February showdown with David Haye. Haye is currently recovering from shoulder surgery and contemplating his future in the ring after being advised by doctors to retire. It is the second time in the space of two months that the former heavyweight champion has pulled out of a fight with Fury after a cut sustained in training scuppered their original September showdown.

A furious Fury took to Twitter to vent his rage at Haye before turning his attention to fellow undefeated heavyweight 'The Bronze Bomber'. Wilder has racked up a 30 straight victories by knockout with none of his opponents managing to last longer than four rounds.

Let's see if GB, because I know Wilder does, has the balls to make this step up. I don't believe it is too much of a risk but enough to make GB think about it before going thru with it. I'd root for Fury though, I'm a big Fury fan! Specially because of his antics/personality and fight style ofc.

Im actually more excited about this potential fight than haye. with haye it seemed pretty obvious his speed and experience would overwhelm fury. there's more unknowns with wilder so it makes it more intriguing. I so hope this fight happens

This would be a star-producing fight,,

who ever gets the ko win, would become an instant star IMO

they should do this in vegas, and let fury talk his junk to hype the fight,,,
they should put it on floyd's may undercard especially if khan is the opponent,, it would double up the euro interest in the fight,,,

I doubt it gets made,,, we will probably see fury-adamek or fury-price or something along those lines,,,

I'll give Wilder props for taking the fight. But he's not going to win. I expect Fury to win this one by knockout in the mid to late rounds.

This is why I like Fury. There is no careful analysis. No looking for guys on a tailspin. He is willing to take risks.

Now Haye on the other hand only shared one trait, and that was his mouth. At least Fury wants to keep active and make fights.

Fury is no world beater, but his heart of being a fighter is in the right place.
