I was looking through that Gamboa vs Mikey thread I made a couple of years ago, those were good times, LOL.
lol It's nice to see how things play out. I felt much better about Gamboa then. Garcia has come a long way.

Hoepfully, you are right and he can get it back. He and mikey would be a great fight if he does. But in his last fight gamboa looked putrid.
I'm just saying we don't really know exactly what's behind Gamboa's drop in performance. Maybe it's steroids. Maybe it's two fights in what, two and-a-half years? Maybe it's not having a good professional trainer in his corner. (His father Carlos isn't cutting it, in my opinion.) Maybe it's Yuri fighting outside his best weight. Maybe it's a combination of all of these things, or even more. Who knows?

In the end, I just hope this fight gets made and that the best man win. Normally I would be firmly behind Gamboa, but he's really losing me as a fan.

it really is a shame that gamboa is already past his best, and only has 23 fights.

when he first came out of the amateurs he was a scary talent. he had the fastest hands in boxing. his career could have been salvaged. he was an amateur for far too long, but it could have been salvaged.

he and juanma lopez was the biggest little man fight in boxing, and it never happened. those fights always happen. they're not like he bigger fighters with more to lose. they usually fight each other.

130 is their best weight, 135 will be too much for both fighters and mikey has never fought there, I got Gamboa for all it's worth... Now make this fight happen, two years ago mikey wasn't ready and I think he will never be while Gamboa is in his prime, don't marinate this one

Mikey Garcia is only banking on Gamboa's inactivity. I hope Gamboa surprises him and knocks his head off. If Gamboa had been more active, I would go with him hands down. Never count Gamboa out, even an inactive Gamboa.

Garcia knocked on the wrong door, Yuriokis needed to get active and stop wasting his talents. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE FIGHT. Gamboa by KO.

Garcia is all wrong for Gamboa. A patient, methodical guy with big power who can make Gamboa pay for his mistakes.
