yes. brewer, reid, mitchell, and mundine. calzaghe refused to fight him even though ottke was the unified champ. kessler didn't come around to later. ottke ruled with an iron fist(literally?) and figuratively.

As Ward/Floyd fans will tell you the 0 doesn't lie. Ottke won his 34 fights on slickness and never relied on his one punch KO power he displayed against Mundine, because he was so slick. You could say he was the inspiration for fighters like Ward/floyd and is probably there hero.

34 fights, 22 title fights, completely cleared out his division (apart from joe Calzaghe who hid in Wales) didn't hide in Oakland like ward, but invited fighters to Germany. If at the end of wards career he is still undefeated with no stone left unturned, we can discuss this. Untill then, Ottke all day.

Ward schools him 11 rounds to 3 if it's at a neutral venue. If it's in Germany Ward knocks him out with 4 rounds. In Oakland Ward knocks him out around the 8th.

Ottke is greater in the division, Ward would beat him if they would of fought but fantasy land is just that, fantasy. Ward can easily be greater overall if he continues to fight good opponents after Kovalev(win or lose).

He kept fighting the best knockout artists from Italy and Germany and made them look ******. Dont you dare to mess with Ottke.

Also here is an interview in german, where Ottke talks about Ward and how Ward ducked him back in 2004 and fought in the Olympics instead of facing him, as you can see Ottke still is in great shape and could come back anytime, probably already preparing to expose the Kovalev Ward winner.

                  Kovalev > Ottke's entire career.

as far as stylistically ottke has the power and foot speed edge but ward has clamp arms and the shoulder jump. i really see it depending on the location for this fight. if it's in germany ottke wins and if it's in the USA ward wins. also don't count out joe calzaghe. when both guys turn 40 he has a great chance to dethrone both.

Ottke sends Ward to the dentist with a stool sample, easy work.
