Comments Thread For: Demetrius Andrade Wants Carlos Molina in Unification

Demetrius Andrade, at long last, can enjoy the sweet taste of vindication.

The 2007 amateur world champion from Providence, R.I., didn’t quite fade into obscurity after a disappointing third-round loss in the Beijing Olympics ended his sparkling amateur career, but the 25-year-old’s time in the pro ranks had been fairly undistinguished by comparison. Molina is awful to watch and doesn't even concern himself with landing clean effective punches but rather holding, fouling, and smothering his opponents offense to a decision.

I just never want to see him or the garbage game he brings again.

          I'll take it.

          Andrade/Molina
          Lara/Trout
          Canelo/Cotto

May actually see an undisputed 154 champ.

Ortiz_Molina initially sounded nice when it was rumored, but I think that was only because we haven't seen Ortiz in a while and any news can be good news when it concerns a young fighter returning…as well as a sentiment for him since he seems like a cool dude...however I never thought he should get that kind of pass after two losses and his inactivity..

While Molina is no pushover, he isn't the most dangerous or risky fighter in the world and he comes with a belt…I think other, active fighters are more deserving for that opportunity

Andrade does have the tools to deal with Molina, it would be a good win but certainly not a fight that would overly raise his profile because Molina is a guy you just have to beat and move on looking good doing it just isn't really in the cards thus will always bring some chirping from the peanut gallery.

Molina is from Chicago so I am supposed to like him. When he gets in the ring at local events with other "famous' fighters, I find it really hard to clap for him.

And stranglely enough I liked Andrade more as an amateur then a pro. I watched him at the 2007 World Championships and he dominated. He lost luster as a pro.

This is a bad fight. Even though it's nice to have fewer champs I cringe when Molina fights.

Why can't be from Houston or something?
