Comments Thread For: Rios: Pacquiao Has Done Great, But Time For Him To Quit

Brandon Rios believes Filipino great Manny Pacquiao will draw inspiration in the wake of Super Typhoon Haiyan, but that won't stop him trying to send the eight-weight world champion into retirement.

Rios sent his condolences after the giant storm slammed into the Philippines, leaving about 4,000 people dead and three million homeless, but said will have little sympathy for his opponent once they step in the ring on Sunday.

50/50 fight for me. Pacquiaos rapid fire punch angles and b-ball footwork vs Rios granite chin and uppercut-head-body-head pressure. i got love for both fighters and would love to see Pacquiao return to with a vengeance. Normally Pac would have a BIG edge over Rios but after getting "iced" by JMM is why im calling it 50/50.

Watching this dude speak on video irks the hell out of me...he sounds like someone with with a double digit IQ..I do like Brandon's mentality towards boxing and his belief in himself but damn if he doesn't make you want to sit him down and civilize the hell out of him. From the bits we saw of their training he's in for a longgggg night, a real long night.

man I just cant see how bam bam will win. I mean he has power and all yeah but its not like he has crazy 1 hit KO power and we dont know if he will carry his power even if its just 7 pounds. Good luck to both men

In my opinion fighting at 147 will actually benefit Brandon because I believe what he says about it being a more natural weight for him, plus to me he still looked like he had to cut down quite a bit to make 140. Win or lose, I think it would be awesome if Top Rank and Golden Boy would work with each other to put together a fight between Brandon Rios and Victor Ortiz now that they are both finally in the same weight division assuming that Ortiz doesn't opt to move up to 154. The fight would finally settle their rivalry.

How was Margarito rocked by that right counter hook from Pacman, but Marquez was hit with harder shots in their 4th fight and still stood up?

strange, Maybe Pacman power dropped bad or Marquez chin got stronger as he moved up in weight.
