Do fighters have a special insurance policy?

I've heard about football players having certain incurance policies that were to li k in if they had career ending injuries, just wondering is there anything like this for boxers, or for general health insurance would they pay out of pocket for going to the hospital after a fight or do promoters pay for their fighters health benefits

Not really sure what you're asking, but promoters have to buy fight insurance

Pretty much any other insurance is up to the fighter himself to purchase

Absolutely! That's insurance paperwork you have to review with a fine tooth comb. It works like liability/life insurance I believe and not too many insurance companies offer it.

I was thinking about the heavyweight fighter who was in a coma his purse was supposed to be $40k but he's had huge medical expenses and I believe I saw a commercial or something asking ppl to donate and help the fighter with expenses
