i dont know about anyone else but i really enjoyed tysons special comments for the ward fight. the dynamic of kellerman, rjj, lampley and mike was really interesting to watch. im a little tired of mikes seemingly endless circus tour to grab a buck being on what it seems every talk show, starting new spin offs monthly im crazy blah blah im on drugs blah blah. but hearing tyson talk boxing is what he actually does best not being "crazy mike." hope to see him appear on a hbo card again.
how did you guys like mikes commentary?

Tyson was always a real student of the game. he knows boxing. always like to hear what he has to sayi dont know about anyone else but i really enjoyed tysons special comments for the ward fight. the dynamic of kellerman, rjj, lampley and mike was really interesting to watch. im a little tired of mikes seemingly endless circus tour to grab a buck being on what it seems every talk show, starting new spin offs monthly im crazy blah blah im on drugs blah blah. but hearing tyson talk boxing is what he actually does best not being "crazy mike." hope to see him appear on a hbo card again. -
Tyson was spot on with his commentary and he is very articulate however I think tyson is too big of a personality to be confined to hbo ringside commentaryComment

It was pretty cool seeing them all hang out together. You can tell that all of the HBO crew and Jones are still in awe of Tyson and they all looked like a bunch of frat buddies catching up on old times. It is good to see Tyson more composed and grounded that he has been in the past. He actually is getting comfortable with the idea of being in front of crowds and the protocol for commentating and interviews. You know, like he understands that he is supposed to turn to the camera when Lampley ends a certain sentence. Or how to follow up on comments that he makes, relating it to a prior comment or an unrelated event that can link the audience to what he is saying for humor.Comment

He knew what he was talking about when I could hear him, I think he would make a very good commentator. He is very quiet though and was hard to hear.
He has a very distinctive voice though which almost everyone knows, so even though it is not exactly what you expect from a boxing broadcaster. Heck even if not calling fights he could be a studio guy, somebody should hire him in some capacity for boxing broadcasting.Comment
