Don't waste you're time. It was worst than Canelos attempt to actually think he had a chance at beating May

not hating but getting 2 million to hug all night?

HBO wouldn't pick up Marquez vs Segura which was a 1000000 better than this fight and wouldn't have cost as much.

Great performance by Ward. Rodriguez didn't make weight, entered the ring as a crusierweight and wanted to make the fight ugly. Ward dealt with it masterfully.

Folks who call fighters like Ward "boring" simply don't understand that at Ward's level, you're going to encounter opponents who come into the ring with no intention of fighting a real fight. Ward demonstrated how you put these guys in their place.

            Embarrasing

Ward Rodriguez fight was probably the worst fight I can remember in 40 years of being a fan. A pro against a.......I don't know, amateurs fight better than Rodriguez. One durable cat but who cares?

Ward looked good, especially coming off a long lay-off. I think Rodriguez found on really early on that Ward was too much and just tried grappling as much as he could.

Damn that is almost word for word what Ward said at the post fight interview. Yeah all the holding, holding and hitting & head butting Ward did was Edwins fault cause he tried to punch back

Why do refs take away points from both fighters? What's the point there? Why not just give them a stern warning.

First you give a warning. Then you give a stern warning, then you take a point, then you disqualify.

The ref did give the strictest, most stern warning to both fighters in skipping all that and going straight to the taking of a point. He was basically saying to both fighters, "Enough of this (rap!"

It worked too, as both fighters changed their stances on extreme dirty/retaliation tactics. Andre Ward acknowledged as much in the post fight interview.

Remember, it's not a street fight and the ref is there to keep the boxing as civil as can be. And in this instance, he did.
