I am ALL FOR THIS.

Fighters not making the weight is becoming the norm. 10-20% is one thing, but half of your purse is something to really make you think twice.

I don't believe in weight-draining; if you accepted the fight, you accepted the challenge to make that weight. you signed the contract. If a fighter doesn't think he can make the weight, he shouldn't have signed. NO EXCUSES.

Its unprofessional not making weight, no doubt about it but if they agreed to20% last night why come with this today? As some other posters pointed out, its not for the WBA title now so what do their rules have to do with it? Would that mean if he pays the 45% hes now eligible to win the title? Rodriguez should call his bluff and say ''ok no fight then'', I don't think Ward really plans on pulling out as HBO wouldn't be too happy about that.

That is exactly what it says. I was looking forward to this fight, see how Ward reacts to a real threat. It will be messed up to cancel a fight like this, after going through training camp.....

Asking for 450k could get the fight cancelled though, then hes out his entire purse plus the 200k. It doesn't always pay to be greedy.

The fight will go on. Like I said. Lawyers are just doing what there supposed to. Get the most money for their client. You ask for 4 you may get a extra 2.

Yeah im sure the fight will happen too but if he were to really stick to the 450k thing I think Rodriguez would just pull out. He has expenses to pay as well plus taxes so by taking half of his purse right off the bat would leave him ****ed and I just don't see him going for that.

You were looking at rules for European regional WBA contests, not regulations for World title (these differ). Hope it helps

45%! Yikes! This move by Ward shows me they are insecure though. To me Ward is a fraud and I'm being completely honest... he won the Super Six okay but against who really? A bunch of okay fighters (Abraham, Bika, Green, Kessler) who he couldn't even knock out. And Froch, let's be real. The guy's style is extremely robotic. I find it very hard to give this guy the credit some do.

I don't know you enough to know if you're joking. It's too ridiculous to be genuine.

In case you are not, if GGG beats Froch or ANY of those guys it would be his best win to date and he would be declared an ATG.
