Mayweather Headgear

It's good Mayweather wears headgear with cheek protection, instead of headgear with face bar. I understand facebar is used to prevent cuts. However, I think facebar headgear promotes the idea to a fighter that it's okay to get hit. The reason I say this is because punches can't through to the face and so there is no consequence to getting hit. If there is no consequence, then it gives fighter the idea that it's okay to get hit. Therefore, I think it's great that Mayweather uses headgear with only cheek protection. It makes him have to use his defense and skill to not get hit, not facebar. Even amateur open face headgear will force you to be a better defensive fighter in order to avoid punches.

Headgear is for you to practice without getting injured, cut, etc. You take those risk only when your getting paid to do so.

The bar is to protect your nose. Winning headgear with the face bar is the most protection you can get. Mayweather probably doesnt use it because it affects vision, and he needs his vision because he practices defence.

Yeah, I was thinking about blocked vision by facebar headgear, too. But, I've seen Mayweather talk and brag about not using facebar headgear and how everyone else uses it.
