The word coming out of the Philippines is that Erik Morales is looking to exercise the rematch clause that was included in the contract of their January 21 bout.

I for one am actually hoping this happens......I am hoping Morales has some gas left in the tank even tho it appears not.I won't be betting on him this time tho.

did it say what weight at? the contract says 130. i think pac camp should stay at that as originally written in the contract.

they have to leverage this during the negotation for the rubber match (i.e. pac gets the bigger money, ppv buys, etc.).

I don't think it a good idea in retrospect, so soon after the clash a few weeks ago. However, HBO may reason that Pac man can afford the loss and morales needs the win. neither may be destoryed career wise. if i were HBO, i`d ensure a very close fight, declare a draw and move Morales up to lightweight and keep Pac at Super feather. Neither's marketablity would be injured and they would be free to pursue other fights.
How HBO fits Barrera into this depends on his endevours at Lightweight. Perhaps they'll have Barrera lose to chavez but then beat pac in a rematch at super feather, only for Pac to beat Chavez and then a pac and barrera third decider, with the winner fighter morales in a forth fight....This would be a good plan for HBO! I hope they organize something like this...

I think Morales will have problem making the weight...

yea thats exactly why i think its unwise for morales to try and go again with pacquiao cuz of the weight issues.

i think it would take pac longer to break morales down again
do id go for a pac ud, with late ko optional morales is done.
he aint gonna make an incredible comeback like barrera did

Morales might excercise the rubber match clause just to spite Barrera. To prevent Pac - MAB II from happening. I don't see that rubber match happening though. Not this year.

Pac's camp most be a bunch of *****s if they dont accept the weight at 133. Its as if they dont want to lose the advantage of Morales draining himself.
