On Saturday November 9th in Corpus Christi Texas, Demetrius Andrade won the vacant WBO Junior Middleweight Title by split decision over Vanes Martirosyan. The announcers were critical of the scoring, especially of Alvarez, as they felt Andrade won convincingly. The judges scores were as follows:

I had it 117-112 with an extra point for the kd..clear cut decision for andrade.115-112 for vanes is ludacris,and i hate when judges score even rounds,it should be scored one guy or the other...

how vanes pretty much win the first 5 rounds (with the exception of round 2) on two scorecards while the other judge had andrade winning 4 of the first 5 is beyond me. judges can watch in a vacuum all they want but how is it that they're watching a different fight from each other?

This was one of those cases where Andrade won clear rounds and Vanes won close rounds, but he won them. Going into the championship rounds it was an even fight. After eight though it was quite clear the last four rounds weren't worth watching. They were rightfully fast forwarded.
