    Puerto Rican boxing future

P.R boxing has hit rock bottom , right?

Cant go nowhere but up. Who do we have? Who puts us on the map again? We have some promising prospects though. Who do you think is the next elite champ. Any of our up and coming fighters have a chance or are they not good enough to reach stardom.

    Pedraza
    Velez
    Verdejo
Arroyo brothers (any news from them)
"Bomba" (can he rebound and make noise)
    Dulorme

The Velasquez brothers I thought would have made more noise by now.

    Am I missing any?

I think Verdejo becomes the new Cotto in terms of marketability and success. AND let's not forget, Cotto is still in the picture and looking solid. If he beats Sergio, PR is back on the map strong. It's not about the amount but about the quality.

Angel Garcia is PR's boxing future. He will carry the flag with pride. Danny is PR's king. He's top 10 p4p and doesn't look to lose anytime soon, barring a mayweather matchup.

          ..............

We will be ok just give us a few more months and we will have a few champs....
Possibly sooner if Cesar Seda, Jr beats one of my favorite boxers Leo Santa Cruz.

Yeah no doubt , Im not looking for quantity trust me , Im looking for that next talent that freezes P.R on that saturday night and has everyone in front of their tvs.

Honestly thats one thing I think we have on any other country. When one of ours is fighting , that night everything stops completely and everyone tunes in.

I cant imagine any other place that does that. Cuz people in U.S will watch Floyd and Pac but not the overwhelming majority. Maybe Cuba when the olympics are on and the cubans are fighting.

You can feel the energy that day , you see people getting ready , buying beer , food , its crazy. You have to be there to witness it.

My money is on Jayson Velez carrying the torch soon. And from the looks of Mexican TV ratings their country pretty much stops when Canelo fights.

Hey I support Danny and I'm a fan. I support him 100%. He wants to rep P.R? good.

But I think most Ricans would agree with me that we are waiting for someone from the island to rise. Someone born and raised over there.

I'm hoping its Pedraza and Verdejo.

Philippines shuts down when Manny fights. Crime goes down the entire day by a significant amount.

That's probably the only other country, though.

Must be fun to have a whole country excited about the same thing. Maybe the world cup is similar?
