Fighters cannot admit to PED usage as the implications are different to recreational drugs. If Tyson was to admit to PED use, every past opponent would be sueing him for stuff like 'excessive physical damage', 'damages for diminished earnings due to a loss/loss of title'. Tyson is open about a lot of things in his life but he is still selling himself as a brand and his advisors would be showing him the backlash Lance Armstrong recieved. Tyson is possibly the biggest crossover star from boxing ever, imagine how bad it would be if he admitted to endangering fighters lives by taking PEDS.
Also as someone said earlier these are professional athletes fighting for millions of dollars and more importantly, their lives. If they are willing to take a recreational drug which will diminish their performance, then go through all the trouble of hiding it, why wouldn't they do the same with something that will increase their performance. It's blatantly ignorant to believe most fighters aren't on PEDS.

If a fighter is just a drug head, then to keep getting this high wouldn't they take a PED rather than risk losing and missing out on pay days? If their drug heads and not thinking rationally would they not take PEDS because of morals? People who can still compete at the very highest level even though they are 'high' are not getting an illegal boost?
Ok

Was always a Tyson fanatic, but when the PED stories started breaking in 2000, I started looking at my idols across a variety of sports and wondering...
In Tyson's case, two things that bolster his case for being PED-free (in his prime anyway): 1) his freakish size and power were well-documented and evident when he was in adolescence. 2) there are so many people who stood to make money from leaking such a story. Tyson went through so many trainers and various entourages in his camps. I'd imagine that someone would've wanted to be the person who broke the story that the baddest man on the planet was a fraud. And yet, there have never been any accusations to this date (the title of this thread notwithstanding)
