The first time I saw floyd fight was against Oscar, it was at that time that I started following the sport. I was wondering how come floyd never fought Barrera, morales or Marquez at 126 or 130? We're they just never in the same weight class at the same times?
Floyd pre Oscar

Yes, They were never in the same weight call during that time. Floyd started his career at 130 lbs while the 3 amigos were fighting in the lower divisions. -
How'd Naz duck Floyd? that's BS and you know it. Floyd was fighting at super feather when he won his first world title. Naz was a small featherweight, standing at 5'4'', with Floyd 4 inches taller. Naz never mentioned any intentions of moving up in weight as 126lb was perfect for him.
Plus, from 99-01, when Floyd was at superfeather and then lightweight, he was an unknown whereas Naz was one of the biggest stars in the sport who was gearing up to fight Barrera, a bigger star at the time then Mayweather and in the right division. A better overall fighter than Mayweather at the time too.
So Naz ducked Floyd to fight Barrera, one of the greatest Mexican boxers ever. At what weight and in which year should Floyd v Naz have happened when it was realistic?
Floyd's fight with Oscar was his first huge "event" but he had some big-ish fights prior to that. Wins over very good fighters in Hernandez, Corrales and Castillo and also the Gatti fight. Gatti was shot by then but he was still a "name" opponent.
Fact is, Floyd was unknown outside of hardcore boxing circles pre-Oscar whereas Pacquiao always had a massive following due to the Philipinos and ofc the Mexicans.Comment
