Comments Thread For: Arum, Top Rank Donate P1 Million For Typhoon Victims

In my country, a million dollars is about the same, $23,600 and if inflation is anywhere near the same, then $23k is absolutely nothing. I mean the death toll is estimated to be 10,000 people. The cost of damages is estimated to be $2.30 Million dollars, or more. Bob Arum just contributed to 1% of the damages, but happily takes that huge 27% cut from Pacquiao's $20-30 million dollar pay checks. I can guarantee you that $100-150k wouldn't even tickle his bank account. Guy just donated chump change.Comment

$23K is what Arum had in the change box of his Bentley...but hey, whatever...he decided to spend a $23K PR move...whatever...every little bit helps...i guessComment

This is still going on?
Have any of you actually seen the footage of what this typhoon did?
Some of you need to learn this is just a sport but that is actual life that has been made very very hard by this. Deaths have occurred and more will come because they lack the simple things to survive and yet here are some arguing that he should have given more. Reach into your own pockets and give if you want but dont judge someone who helped when you havent done anything but ***** on an internet forum.
Ill debate on here and argue with some and it wont always be popular or give those little green squares you all love but this is something we should all be behind. This has nothing to do with the sport other than a high ranking promoter gave to those less fortunate.
Like i said earlier who cares why he did it or how much he or his company gave but good for him and im sure the people he helped with whatever he gave are appreciative.Comment

TBH 23K form him for free is a lot.Wow, Bob Arum really breaking the bank.
1,000,000 Philippine Peso equals
$22,928.000 US Dollar
Search the world's information, including webpages, images, videos and more. Google has many special features to help you find exactly what you're looking for.
If I was a boxing promoter earning millions of dollars a year like Arum, and give $23k in a Typhoon relief to the country of my most valuable fighter, i'd be ashamed of myself.
Hopefully PI could be resourceful with that small check. I'm sure it would help a lot but you'd think he would donate more. Like $100k would hurt really hurt his pockets? It would bankrupt him? Make him go out of business? SMH.
One. He is a trained lawyer, they don't give **** to anyone.
Two. He is a boxing promoter, they rob people like mofo's.
Three. Without sounding racist, which I hope no offence is taken, he is ***ish, who stereotypically have a stingy persona.Comment

Not only do you sound racist, you also sound like an unintelligent buffoon. But I suppose I'm being redundant.
You can question Arum's intentions, but the bottom line is that he's helping. How easy it was for him to make the donation that he did, is irrelevant. How much have you given, and what percentage of your total assets was it?
Would you feel better if he didn't give any money?Comment
