In what world did signing with 50 cent look like a good idea at the time? 50 paid a lot for him too, top rank was more than happy to hand him over.

Gamboa had it good with top rank, pretty easy fights, good paycheck from HBO, and a so kid future. Now he has nothing and no one, if 50 isn't paying top rank, he isn't fighting.

Signing with Mayweather seemed like a decent idea, it was Floyd who put the whole thing in his mind...he just got left out in the cold and was stuck with 50.

He was losing most of his money with Top Rank, he had multiple parties taking large chunks of his money, which is why he wanted out. Not to mention Top Rank kept the big money fight away from him trying to keep the Juanma cash rolling in.

What a waste of a career. Whatever's left is quickly dissipating. I've been frustrated before; but, as time goes on, the frustration lessens. Yuri did it all to himself. I wish the guy well, but he's gonna regret his decisions.

He was pissed about not getting the big money Juanma fight, along with Oner and Arum taking large cuts of his money and took a chance on moving promoter. Ultimately Floyd and 50 have ruined what he had going and he's in the middle of nowhere atm. Seemed like a solid decision at the time, but he will now regret not staying put, boxing Rios' ears off and being in a great spot.

It's very unfortunate seing your favourite fighter go from a mini-wrecking machine to an inactive fighter bouncing around the wrong weight divisions.

Ever since the PED center scandal (google Gamboa linked to PED scandal for more cent info on the subject), he has looked average compared to the beast he was. He was a machine back in 07-08 and not because of the opposition he faced, based on his skillset alone. He used to move like a machine and throw blazing fast combinations... now he looks slower, tires out faster, some of the flash is still there but not quite the same.

I think Gamboa is the biggest waste of talent we have seen in awhile. He was a beast. Thats sad I really believed he could take over boxing once Money and Pac retires. Oh well I guess I was wrong.

Gamboa needs to get away from 50 cent. Get a promoter who make fights regulary! Its still not to late but make it NOW!
