Darchinyan is a very hard puncher. I'm glad Donaire didn't quit like Angulo, Delahoya, Victor Ortiz, Judah, etc. Donaire reached deep and found the will to finish off Darchinyan.

It was frustrating watching Donaire...fast feet, fast hands, big power and good length, but he was sitting there....hoping to end it on a single punch.

for real....i thought darch had in in the bag up untill nonito stepped on the gas pedal a bit ..but to be honest ,dont know where that **** came from, nonito just did it ...out of desperation

there's a lil hope for nonito to get back in the elites , i say around 5 %...

he most likley did break his jaw or cheek bone but donaire toughed it out like a champ and kept fighting

Rematch Rigo and retire bro put it to rest Donaire sounds mentally weak right now, Rigondeaux gave him the gun shy syndrome or something he did the same **** in this one he was lucky Vic is as faded as he is, and seemed like he had a soft chin compared to Rigo at least.

My question is has Nonito always been this mentally weak or was it just like the endless excuses, a sign that loosing really affected him?

Did you see the Narvaez fight when he wouldn't give any counter opps Donaire looked like he wanted to go home and was complaining lacked interest.

Donaire is one of the most dangerous one punch guys in the sport but if he can't land a KO shot he's just an athletic guy who boxes that waits around if he's placed in real adversity he'll lose again

A lot of people will hate my opinion but I think what happened tonight and even worse in the Rigondeaux fight was a product of Donaire's 2012 light touches. Aside from Mathebula who I always give Donaire credit for, he basically fought 3 light touches. Going in to this very light 2012, he fought the very small, non-dangerous Omar Narvaez in 2011, who went back down to Super Flyweight anyway. That's 5 out of 6 fights being very easy opponents. This is why he just wasn't ready for Rigondeaux and why he wasn't the same against Darchinyan this time around as he was 6 years ago, it showed that even Darchinyan was better than the opposition Bob Arum had him used to facing. Donaire did get lazy but I think it was the opposition that made him lazy and "in love" with his power.

What Donaire did in 2012 to his 2013 transition is like going from Elementary Algebra to University Physics with Rigondeaux. Fortunately he went back down to Calculus with Darchinyan and he was good enough to only barely pass it. But he's still used to that Elementary Algebra, he needs to start studying more and taking boxing more serious.He got his gimme fights in 2012, time to fight a little more serious.

Nonito is a gifted fighter, time to see if he can buckle down and get back to that top level and most importantly, look impressive while doing so. he's got fast hands still fast feet, and great power. but when he's frustrated his punch output gets waay low and starts looking flat footed (imo)

Donaire just looks like he has too many cogs and wheels turning in his mind now while a fight is going on. Vic was landing that left hook at will.

Donaire needs to get his head back in the game. He did not look good tonight at all.

I thought Donaire was slipping in the middle-late rounds but I will never doubt him again, he has a heart of a champion

I think not enough credit is going to Vic for tonight. He came prepared, fought a disciplined fight for most of the night, and drew on a ton of experience for one of those last great performances older fighters can muster. He's been knocked out twice. Same guy. Donaire didn't look much different than he has in about any fight since Montiel. He just had a better foe than he had in guys like WV2 and Narvaez. Much better.

you know I'm not really sure anymore. I expected him to box a smart fight and not get touched as much as he did.

Because he wants to put up good show, entertain vast majority of boxing fans for their hard earned money. not just pot shots, run run & run.
