I don;t see how that fight was particularly close, one guy clearly did more than the other in almost every aspect and it is not like Vanes was landing thunderous blows if anything the effect of the punches landed was comparable.
Vanes made some rounds somewhat close but he really wasn't winning them. Aside from the first which should have been a 10-9 round you could give him a couple perhaps.

What I liked from Andrade was that knockdown didn't effect him at all, he stuck to his plan that worked in round 1 but never got caught off balance again. A young fighter usually will lose their cool in that situation but Andrade stayed lam and collected doing work.
He didn't overly impress as Vanes is a solid guy who is tough to look good against but he really showed who the better fighter was over the course of the fight.Comment

115-112 for Vanes seems to be the type of judging to expect in TX. I thought the 114-113 for Andrade was suspect. Andrade clearly won this fight. 117-111 was almost on point but clearly much closer to the truth compared to the other judges. To me the difference was Andrade's jab.
The judge that scored this fight 115-112 for Vanes should be barred from judging anything.Comment

Andrade sucks he slaps with his jab. Lucky it wasn't lara tonight Andrade would of got busted up. Geez...never thought 2 former Olympians fighting for a title (whatever its worth) suck!!Comment
