there's a difference between limited and overrated. donaire was limited, and rigondeaux exploited his weaknesses. when donaire can't land his gas he can be made to look ordinary. his resume was certainly among the five best in boxing when he fought rigondeaux.
I disagree that he should've been top 5 and I am not sure if he is HOF. SOme of those wins, Narvaez MOntiel, Vazquez jr., IMO were given too muc "weight" IMO, so much so that I predicted rigo would beat him.

I think your limitations, in part, make you "overrated" or "poperly rated". we will simply disagree.

you will have to disagree with literally anybody who followed boxing from '07 to early '13 [from fans to pundits,] when nonito put together a hall of fame resume and became a consensus top 5 p4p fighter.

you are ranked based on who you beat, how, and when.

i agree on how you are ranked. Where we most likely disagree is "name value" vs "actual value". Since 2007 he beat:

        Jorge Arce
        Toshiaki Nishioka
        Jeffrey Mathebula
        Wilfredo Vázquez, Jr.
        Omar Andres Narvaez
        Fernando Montiel
        Wladimir Sidorenko
        Hernan Marquez
        Manuel Vargas
        Rafael Concepcion
        Raúl Martínez
        Moruti Mthalane
        Luis Maldonado
        Vic Darchinyan
        Kevin Hudgins

Is this a HOF resume? IDK. Its definitely deserving of p4p ranking, but again my opinion was it was't top 5.

Nonito is still one of the top fighters out there.

He is a counterpuncher at heart and looks terrible against boxers. If he can learn how to go foward when he needs to he will be a force again

There are some big names on that list and big KO victories.

Yes, there is a lot of name value. but when you look at the narvaez, arce, nishioka, concepcion when he fought them and the weight they fought at its clear name value is greater than actual value.

thats not to say the wins aren't good, they are.

Agreed, Rigondeaux used superior boxing skills to beat Nonito. He gave him little to hit, and he was too fast for Donaire to counter. This rematch with Darchynian will perhaps give Nonito some practice at going forward, as I feel Vic will try to box more at first. However, Vic tries to overpower his opponents, and will likely revert to his old style, which is perfect for Nonito to counter. I predict a similar stoppage like in the first fight.

so i rank based on "name value," and you rank on "actual value" then?

                    right.

and yes, nonito donaire will be a hall of famer.

I didn't say or implied you did. I think some of these fighters have more name value than actual value-which is why I didn't have him top 5 p4p and why IDK if the resume is HOF.

                      we can agree to disagree.
