I believe preparation is the key to victory. Mayweather vs Garcia may happen next year, maybe 2 years from now, who knows. Maybe never. But even with the thought of a possible clash with Floyd starting to slowly manifest, what do YOU think Danny should start working on today in early anticipation of the biggest fight of his life?

    Nothing. His chin's already granite.

He's gonna get peppered all night long, and thankfully his chin is on steroids.

you know I don't think Garcia is quite ready for Mayweather but his timing with his left hook can change any fight.

I believe he could beat Floyd if he worked on cutting off the ring and doubling up left hooks, mixing them up to the head and body, or left hook-fake right-left hook because Floyd's typical reaction when he's on the ropes getting swung at, is to anticipate left-right-left (constantly alternating) combo's and move from side to side each punch. Angel and Danny are smart and they know how to adapt. Danny's head movement is always improving, his chin is excellent and he's so confident in his timing. I don't think he'd be discouraged by Floyd's slickness and precision counters and Danny's workrate would only get higher as the fight went on, unlike Canelo's.

If I had to, I'd put my money on Floyd winning a decision, but honestly, I'd never bet real money against Danny Garcia.

            Great post.

I think he needs to improve cutting off the ring as well. He's shown he's versatile, but he's got to show a lot more to compete w/ floyd. I don't doubt him anymore, but I really think the difference in talent/athleticism will be Danny's downfall.

Floyd is just too good, he needs to catch floyd on the decline.

DG deserve to be one of the last fights for floyd.

cant really see him beating Floyd unless Floyd ages overnight...but he needs to work on his speed and cutting off the ring. He already packs a whallop, and has a good chin.. he needs more quickness to catch Floyd. Otherwise he'll be swinging at air and arms and shoulders all night.

On hitting arms double up on the right hand than hook to the body. What I've notice Floyd waits for right hands to touch him than throws that sneaky right upper cut to beat you to the punch, got to be dirty rough house tactics as Roberto Duran and Mike Tyson have stated. You not going to beat Floyd if you want to box or have a clean fight unless your a bigger guy like GGG who would steam roll right through Floyd. What keeps people at bay is Floyd can still hit hard at 147 154 if he didn't than Canelo would have gotten right through Floyd and not have worried about getting hit. Floyd just doesn't open up for the KO's. Someone like triple G who spars heavyweights would have no problem with Floyds punches that's why he would steam roll right through him

If there is one thing the people around here need to batter into their heads it's NEVER discount Danny Garcia. the guy just keeps on winning. His timing with that left hook is terrific. He could hang pretty well with floyd imo

rest, stay in shape, and prepare for the fight when it gets signed. it's a PPV fight if they make it, and he will have plenty of time to prepare. if he really wants to he can watch some tape with his coach / father.

it's not like he's going to start training for a fight now. that's not what these guys do. in between fights they have to their bodies to heal. he might do some light work in the gym to stay in shape (he's been photographed in the gym recently,) but he won't start sparring, gameplanning, heavy roadwork, before the fight is signed.
