On the other hand, Rocky did make it into the HOF.
Stallone is in as an 'observer' not a fighter so this is an incorrect comparison

Zab is more accomplished and better than Gatti, or some of the others that got in. So, yes.

With today's low HOF standards, he might sneak in, but I would say no.

He was undisputed champ at WW and won a belt at jr. WW twice, but he lacks a real career defining win. His best wins are Witter, Corley, Spinks and Matthysse. His eight losses came against elite opposition (with the exception of Baldomir), and he was competitive in most of them.

Overall he has won five belts in two classes, has some decent wins, and his losses are nothing to be ashamed of, but he lost his biggest fights, and hasn't beaten anyone he wasn't "supposed to" beat (except maybe Spinks in the rematch).

I agree with this post..I guess Zab is not a HOF,I just found it hard to answer the question yesterday..Esp when I thought about some of the fighters that made it..I just think he never beat enough top opposition..

Let's be real. Gatti got in for his 3 fights against Ward, and the fact that people loved him, and could identify with the hard nosed, Italian kid.

Zab's been more of a black sheep in the sport, plus he's lost, literally every turning point fight in his career, with the exception of Spinks.

He's never really had a classic fight to propel him into legend status with casual boxing fans, and his cheap shots against Floyd, and his KO moment with Tszyu will forever haunt him.

I absolutely don't think it's right for Gatti to make it over Zab, since Zab is the much better boxer, but it is what it is.

excellent post. I find it incomprehensible that Zab will go in the HOF.
