So Cotto has a really good one fight outlook, beyond money, fighting and beating Martinez is a huge career milestone, not sure he can do it because of Martiniez style and size but we'll see. If he does he might just call it a day. Canelo would legitimize him and I think make him Floyd's best option as well. I think he has to win to continue his career or at least controversally lose.

canelo sergio quillin.
but ill explain why this is all smoke and mirrors and theres no doubt he will b taking on another delvin or jennings type guy.
he cant fight canelo in march. even tho canelo will likely spark him, gbp isnt about to put saul in a position to potentially lose 2 in a row. just...no.
its clear he doesnt want ot retire now. so he cant fight sergio. but even if he did want to retire, he cant fight sergio until about midyear. gotta give time to martinez to get a tuneup and for that that handicap placard to arrive in the mail.
he cant fight quillin because..well, who will care about that.
but honestly, i dont mind. i enjoy watching this new cotto, there something about the journeymen that bring out the beast in him!!!

I don't like the logic of some of your post.
- Canelo's team and GBP want him to fight big fights. 1) it redeems him from the Floyd fight, puts it past him sooner 2) he's a huge star right now and you don't groom a star by putting him in bs fights. It's one thing to take on weak fights coming up, but it's not a good strategy to do so when you're the best at your weight.
- Cotto definitely should take this Canelo fight. They're offering him over 10 million to take it, it would likely be Cotto's largest payday ever. He made around 12 mil each against Floyd and Manny, so he'd make around that to fight Canelo, which is nowhere near what a Martinez fight would bring.
- Quillin would be a fight many would want to see in the boxing community. But it wouldn't be as big of a fight as Martinez, nor even come close to Canelo (bc Quillin isn't as popular as either, doesn't draw as much money).
Cotto probably fights Canelo in March for tons of money, then his next fight depends on the result of that one.
Cotto is very popular, whether you like him or not, and draws tons of money. Whether he wins or loses, it's similar to Oscar De La Hoya, he'll be able to fight many big names for a lot of money.
But to say he has no options when GB has offered him the Canelo fight for around as much as he's ever been paid is crazy. His career has never looked more profitable than today.

I want to see either Canelo or Sergio and to be honest, HBO at the moment has deeper pockets than Showtime. Now that Showtime picked up the Mayweather tab they can make Cotto an offer even if they lose money. Then again they could just stack the undercard to make up for it... Golovkin vs Chavez Jr maybe? I think he takes Canelo now after this offer to be honest.

He certainly has options. I think Sergio vs Cotto is a 50/50 fight to be honest. Sergio is old and hurt and this version of Cotto looks great. Canelo would be a real tough fight for Cotto and I don't think he will beat Canelo, but if it happens I'll be going for Cotto. I think Roach is what Cotto needed

cotto has all the leverage in the world,,, if cotto never came back, then you are serg and canelo going to fight for big money,,,,
serg isnt fighting ggg anytime soon, and canelo is left with a bunch of tricky guys that bring no money like lara, molina, and trout 2...
Cotto is in the best position he has ever been in,,, hell GBP is offering 10 mil+ not a bad payday at all
