  • The last 2 "fighter of the decades" where kod cold a couple years into the new decade

Is this a coincidence? both relied on speed, and athleticism and lacked fundamentals. Neither possessed the fundamental skills to have a long career, just found this strange

Floyd could've been the fighter of the decade if his dumbass didn't decide to retire in the first place.

It just seems the award is handed out to excitement rather then fundamental fighters who remain steady and on top..in the 90's Whitaker could easily have gotten it,in the 2000's Floyd could have easily gotten it..but it seems they do not award defensive fighters

          are you serious?

Pacquiao became a professional in '95 and has had over 60 fights

Yea floyd should've been fighter of the decade if only he didn't retire. I can't lie tho 2006-2009 manny was dominating so it was really a toss up. Interesting fact tho.

Whitaker didn't get the big wins he needed against JCC and ODH (robbed, but still not Ws) and was going out on a loss(Tito)

Had Floyd not retired and beaten the likes of Marg, Mosley and Cotto he may have won it.

LOL only when it suits his Pac hating agenda. But the comparison is legit, Pac and Roy are very similar the only difference is Roy has a slightly better chin than Manny, Roy has never been put to sleep, Pacman has.
