Comments Thread For: Bellew: Stevenson is Overhyped, KO'd By a Journeyman

Tony Bellew has dismissed Adonis Stevenson's 'Superman' tag by warning that he will be the Canadian's Kryptonite.

Liverpool fighter Bellew, 30, takes on the highly-rated Stevenson for the WBC light-heavyweight title in Quebec City on November 30.

It is Bellew's second shot at a world title after losing on points to Nathan Cleverly with the WBO crown at stake two years ago.

The Everton fan is confident of making up for that disappointment against WBC champion Stevenson, who is known as Superman for his strong punching power and impressive record.

Bellew is going to sleep inside 6. He's not in Adonis' league.

You talking like Stevenson is some type of elite fighter. Stevenson is pretty trash himself. Inside and outside the ring.

I used to think that as well but I've become more and more impressed.

Steward did a pretty good job with the ex-pimp. Ex-pimp is now an elite puncher-boxer.

                  JSF,

Unless I missed the full details of what happened he was a bit player in a crime almost 20 years ago & served his time.

He's been a good chap since then (apparently).

I'm not defending his actions but what a teenage immigrant does is a lot different from a married man in his mid 30's. We've all made mistakes, some worse than others, but pay our dues & move on.

And boxing is a great sport for men who need a 2nd chance.

And as much as I would like Bellew to win & I can't see it happening although he does impress me more each time I see him.

I think Bellew is mentally very tough.

We'll see what happens. I certainly don't view him as a lamb to the slaughter.
