Comments Thread For: Peter Fury Not Looking For Stiffs To Face Hughie

London - Peter Fury is looking for a relaxed and composed performance from young heavyweight star Hughie Lewis Fury when he faces David Gegeshidze this Friday at The City Academy, Bristol.

Ahead of Hughie's clash, his father and trainer, Peter, hopes the Georgian fighter will give him a fight "as competitive as possible" to aid the teenager's progression.

"I hope it will be as competitive as possible as we’re not interested in any blast-outs, because Hughie's not learning much by that," Peter said.

I'm fine with him staying at this level for another 6 months or more, it's clear he isn't physically mature yet and there is no point in putting him in tough fights when he's not fully grown

The central area title's currently vacant so a match up with David Howe for that makes sense soon.

i dont see the point of these foreigners who have negligable records, might aswell put him in with our own people who can try and survive.

Yeah I have and he is terrible .. that is why he isn't facing locals. He cant punch & he will be bowled over by the first person who can. They're not putting him in with anyone who can punch because he simply cant fight of the back foot.

I like the fact that he's not a hometown fighter & has fought abroad a few times.
