khan moves in predictable straight lines. his movement is horrible. and its part of the reason his defense is horrid and amateurish.

Lol, and broners defense isn't horrid and amateurish? Just because he calls Floyd big brother and tries to copy his d doesn't mean he's any good at it.

Khan is faster but not by as much as you think, and Broner's defense may be overrated but it sh**s on Khan's lol.

This is a dangerous fight, heck anyone facing Maidana is in for a rough ride, if he lands that straight right down the pipe Broner will feel it.

his defense is a whole lot better than khans or for that matter maidana's. its not amateurish considering its better than most fighters. the probelm is ur comaring it to floyds and his defense, while it looks similar, is nowhere near as good.

Maidana wasn't using the jab.. Khan's predictable straight lines of retreat were enough to keep him in the fight, because Maidana couldn't set and fire, without any ranged arsenal to speak of that night... He hit a skating Khan with that wide right late, but if Khan hadn't been moving so much he would have got knocked out.

Broner's style and mentality is going to allow Maidana to set and fire more. And the emphasis on the jab adds so much to Maidana's mid to long range arsenal, compared to just a few fights ago... He's a more complete fighter now, as far fetched as that sounds for work over just a couple of fights.

So it would seem, but if he aint careful he aint gonna be nothing but a footnote in boxing history...a cautionary tale.

Too much weakness to vice and not enough disciplline for a supposed future p4p fighter, and that's real.

Maidana ices this guy for underestimating him... Then maybe Broner can rebuild. He does have a decent skillset against every style but mover with volume, and a brawler with an iron chin and more power than him..
