That's dumb, you should get informed. He was treated like **** by his German promoter, and had to fight in Panama while trying to ditch them. HBO didn't give a **** about him, they gave him a spot and liked what they see. And now the numbers prove them right.

Actually they didn't even give him a spot. That date was supposed to be for Pirog Geale, but Geale got a much better offer from Sturm who needed to unify to avoid GGG. So then it was supposed to be Pirog GGG, nobody getting an easy ride there. Pirog got hurt, Proksa was the only guy willing to step in.

He just made 400k with 1.5m viewers. There's no better **** for the buck in boxing

I think the whole GGG stuff at 154 was not a serious issue.
As about Golovkin fighting at 168 (Froch, Ward) it rather seems to be a purse issue, as GGG handlers still wait for lucrative offers from these bigger guys.
Instead we all heard GGG expressing his will to clean up the 160 division, which is the obvious way to go further.

Guess they just want to make sure he at least has one
If he doesn't vacate they will just promote him to WBC Multiple Division Unified Mega Supreme Emeritus Champion in Recess and make Canelo/Rabchenko for the WBC title.

I'd love to see them have to sell this on PPV while Cotto and Martinez do big numbers on HBO PPV.

Not a bad match-up. The fact that it is for a title is funny.

                    this

is another money giving scheme by gbp to make ginger a champion again. how pathetic. the kid shouldve been dropped to 5 or below and finally made to earn his way up to the top instead of being given a silver spoon.....AGAIN

and if this is supposed to be one of his ppv fights next year, who the hell, other than his hardcore followers will buy that bs?!?!?!?!?! i dont think id even stream it tbh
