Comments Thread For: Jose Ramirez Returns at Sold Out Golden Eagle Arena

History has been made in the Central Valley with the Solo Boxeo Tecate "Fight for Water" nationally televised fight this Saturday, November 9 featuring U.S. Olympian Jose Ramirez. The 11-time National Champion, London 2012 Olympian and all-time USA Boxing light weight record holder will be featured in the main event on the UniMas broadcast. Further adding to this historic boxing night, the event was sold out three weeks ago along with VIP tables and major sponsors.

"Jose Ramirez is one of the brightest stars in boxing and he certainly represents a great deal in the future of boxing. It is wonderful to see Fresno area fans rally to see this young athlete. They will have plenty to cheer about not only on November 9 but in the months and years ahead," said Bob Arum, Hall of Fame promoter. [Click Here To Read More]

Against who?????? TBA??? How does that qualify as a "big fight"??? Edit: The "big fight" is against a 500 fighter. This kid needs to realize that just because he is fighting doesn't make it a "big fight" as he claims. Sub 500 TBA....typical overprotection. Nothing to see here folks.

Puerto Rican, Jose Ramirez was a superb amateur and Olympian who was robbed against Lomachenko and this is a 1)nationally televised fight with 140 million supportive Mexican fight fans but more importantly 2) "the biggest fight that could be won is the Fight for Water'" and "He wants to help families who lose their jobs when the water supplies are reduced" and he "aims to help resolve the state's water crisis and to promote economic growth in the place he grew up".

It doesn't get any bigger than that.

Tell that to Boxingscene who's biased towards Puerto Ricans as shown when they put up a huge gallery of pics for undeserving Jose "Wonder Boy" Lopez 10-0 vs Sergio Gomez 17-17 <--<--*NOTICE THAT THE OPPONENT IS A 500 FIGHTER?* Too easy, too funny.

Fight for water, YES, but not the fight. Sorry, a 4-4 opponent is not a big fight.
