All we have to wish Sergio Martinez is to return in full health and deliver at least one more big fight... It doesn't have to be against Golovkin...

Sergio is dead scared. Even his promoter said something like "I'm not throwing him against that monster". I find it funny how Martinez was all vocal about Chavez Jr and when Gennady became the biggest name to fight he hasn't even been seen in public lol. Hey Sergio, please guy, he is here, he is ready.

Martinez will probably avoid GGG, and it's understandable due to the reasons stated in the article. But it's fine really; GGG is the new middleweight king. And he will probably want to go to 168 for bigger money fights as well.

I don't think that we'll ever see the good old Sergio again. He did enough for the sport and he'll never be the same -- even he returns to fight. I think he's after cashing out, not after entering another big war (impersonated by Golovkin)...

Just bad timing is all, GGG is the new king, Sergio is the old one. All Martinez wants to do is get paid and win. At this point of their careers it wouldn't be the right fight for Sergio, especially the way he looked against Murray.

Martinez didn't get the proper medical assistance after the Chavez Jr fight. Now Martinez' return at the top is highly questionable...

I don't know why so many think that Sergio is some kind of great champion. His biggest win was as a welterweight and his style of running & hiding while throwing speed shots gets boring as hell after a few bouts. He had junior (who can't box at all) beat and never went in to finish him when the kid was fatiqued. What kind of middleweight champion is that?
So now theres this GGG guy who has an open contract to all and any middleweights and has fought to a clean record and the so-called champ refuses to fight him! Would Hagler avoid this? Monzon would be scared" LaMotta would hide? Sugar Ray cry? hahahaha!!!!
Sergio wants to be an actor playing in B & C movies in south america and thats where he now belongs. GGG knocks him out cold after chasing him for 8 rounds!
                Ray.

At 40 years of age and with the injuries piling up, I have no problem with Martinez going after the money fights at this stage of his career. He's earned it! Cotto and Canelo should be top priority for him.

You're probably right about Sergio avoiding GG and GG will avoid Ward, Froch and the rest of the guys he should be fighting. It'll be interesting to see how many more busters he KOs before stepping up his comp.

You're in a dreamland if you think Golovkin is even in the same league when it comes to name power compared to Chavez Jr.
