Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Trainer: I Don't Think Sergio Martinez Fights Us

Abel Sanchez, trainer of WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (28-0, 25KOs), has told BoxingScene.com, that he doesn't expect WBC champion Sergio Martinez to fight his boxer any time soon. Martinez has several other options with less of a risk factor, says Sanchez, and he doesn't see Martinez, getting close to the age of 40, take a big risk by stepping in the ring with Golovkin. Martinez will return to action in the first half of 2014 after recovering from multiple injuries - and Miguel Cotto is a possible opponent. Golovkin is back on February 1 in Monte Carlo.
