stable probably only means that his vital signs have stabilized. pulse, blood pressure, etc.


he's not out of the woods yet for sure. i'd be pretty shocked if his boxing career were to continue.

My thoughts exactly. It will be highly unlikely he will be able to get the medical clearance he needs even if he did make a complete recovery.

I just watched the fight again and of course hindsight is 20\20 but if I was in Mago's corner I would not have stopped the fight either, yes the swelling on his face was bad but there has been much worse (Hasim Rahman vs Holyfield) and Mago is a puncher and was firing big shots until the 10th when Perez almost dropped him with the jab.

If it was a 12 round fight I would have stopped it after the 10th for sure but before the 10th I would not have.

In any case unfortunately death and serious injury is a part of this game we all love, that is why very few men answer the bell to fight.

I was just pointing out the fact that the HBO announcers were saying that would be a reason to stop the fight, and again hindsight is 20\20 but I have watched the fight 5 times trying to see If I would have stopped the fight and the answer is still no I would not have.

I can't believe Mago fought a couple of days ago now he got part of his skull removed, I hope he gets better and never boxes again for his own good.
