Firstly, This was clearly 100% FOTY. Secondly, Marquez is the better fighter at this point of their careers because Segura's amazing cardio has finally begun to fail him late. Marquez was wilting in the mid rounds and taking scary, thudding head shots but Segura faded and Marquez recuperated. As Segura weakened Marquez grew in confidence and then got careless late and got caught. He was covering his face as he lay on the mat before the stoppage and couldn't see that as he started to get up the ref had just started to wave off the fight. Marquez was fortunate because he might've gotten hurt. Lastly, In Bradley vs Provodnikov it was only Bradley taking heavy bombs and Bradley boxed for part of the fight but in Segura vs Marquez they both landed an unholy amount of heavy bombs on each other in sustained close quarter warfare for the entire fight. Segura vs Marquez is definitely FOTY. I'm extremely happy neither of these Mexicans got hurt. I was very worried for Marquez in the mid rounds.

Marquez was the one who faded. Segura was relentless the whole fight! the only thing momentarily slowing him down being hernan's shots he was walking right through

This was an amazing fight more then one could ask for from these two great warriors, both men have so much to be proud of. Congratulations to Giovani Segura on a great win and congratulations to both fighters on an amazing fight. Looking forward to Segura vs Estrada and looking forward to seeing "Tyson" Marquez again as always but after both warriors get their well earned and desserved rest.

That was one good fight. Don't think that it was a FOTY because Segura was in control for most of the fight. Marquez had good spots in the fight that he will flurry with tight fast combos and had Segura looking hurt a few times.

Segura was relentless even when hurt
