Comments Thread For: Hatton Gives Khan a Shot To Shock Mayweather Jr.

RICKY HATTON reckons Amir Khan CAN become the first man on the planet to beat Floyd Mayweather.

A megabucks clash in May between Khan and the world's best pound-for-pound fighter is now on the cards with talks underway.

No-one has come close to beating Mayweather in his 45 fights.

However, former two-weight world champion Hatton is convinced that Khan can push the American all the way.

Speed Hatton said: "Amir has the style that could cause Floyd problems and give him a real headache.

The 26-year-old Bolton bruiser is 10 years younger than Mayweather and has won 28 of his 31 contests.
    Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeees...

And he also got sparked the fuggout by Danny Garcia and very nearly by Julio Diaz.

    JULIO. DIAZ.

Khan's ending the Mayweather streak, baby.

At no point here is hatton saying khan will win the fight or not get ko'ed.

He says khan 'can' 'could' 'possibly'. Not the language of 'will' or 'is going to..'

Hatton's just a nice bloke and not going to be a **** about a friend when asked a question about him by a reporter.

      But he knows what's up.

Uum did he really say NO ONE. Has come close to beating Mayweather? I'm pretty sure I can think of one who HAS beaten Mayweather! And I do give Mosley props for coming close to ripping his head off aswell! Anyways waste of a fight w khan! He's done nothing to show he belongs in the same ring. Floyd will get his ko finally

          A joke

Looks like Ricky has lost the plot here. He seems to be saying that for Khan to beat Floyd Mayweather ( sorry I know this sounds like a joke) that Khan would have to stay away and let Floyd come to him and for Floyd to have to cut the ring down on Khan. If this is what Hatton is trying to say then this would be even more of a farce than Khan, as happens getting knocked all around the ring from pillow to post and bravely or more to the point ******ly whilst on rubbery legs trying to convince the ref and all, that he's ok and being treated unfairly because he is one of the pound for pound greats ....a super star of boxing!!!
This is total nonsense, Khan was not much cop when he got hurt by light fisted Limmond, didn't look much of a pound for pound great when he was knocked out in under a minute by Presscott, no good against Peterson and his career at a top level was most definitely ended by Danny' Swift ' (four rounds) Garcia.
In his last fight against a carrer long lightweight Khan was down a very nearly out again.....this fellow and his team are has deluded as can be, Khan has not done anything to deserve a shot. He is of european level and no more, infact he is not even the best welter in the north west of England.....Hardly a pound for pound boxing superstar.....A joke!!

I love how you are all calling Ricky out for saying something like this.

What's the problem? He's just saying it would be interesting to see Floyd as the stalker.

First of all. I was stuck on "reckons" for about 5 minutes until I realized it was a post from the Daily Star. The worst thing in the world is when Floyd is doing the stalking, it means the opponent isn't doing enough work and the fight is already lost. Still not buying this fight.

i wouldnt buy it either, all fatman is saying is that it would be nice to see floyd on the front foot and more aggresive for a change. i agree with that, but in no way shape or form would i buy a mayweather vs khan fight.

Khan can easily beat Floyd if he has the right game plan

Make Floyd be the aggressor. Hes more comfortable being in the shoulder roll position so don't let him do that.

                    1. Feint to throw off his timing (downstairs and upstairs)
                    a) if he jumps back 5 feet like he did against Canelo than circle him
                    b) if hes there to be hit than throw a 2-3 punch combination and hold him until the ref breaks it up, circle away and repeat

                    2. Floyd will get frustrated and look to throw the lead right. Bait him into this by not moving your head and getting within his range. When he throws it, duck under and throw a uppercut. This is the best chance of knocking him out because hes coming forward and won't see it coming. If Floyd lands the right than no big deal because hes feather fisted.
