Comments Thread For: Molina Still Wants Omar Figuaroa, Yuriorkis Gamboa

2013 was full of ups and downs for John Molina Jr but he got one of the sweetest and most dramatic wins of his career in his last fight when he stopped undefeated Mickey Bey in the final minute of their 10 round bout. It was a must a win situation for Molina and he’s now back on the road to get another shot at a world title.

Molina will be fighting on the Andre Ward-Edwin Rodriguez undercard on November 16th against an opponent yet to be named. This will be a stay busy fight for Molina as he is gearing up for 2014 and looking for a big name fight.

One name that Molina has been calling out for some time now is current WBC Lightweight champion Omar Figueroa who put on a fight of the year candidate with Nihito Arakawa this past July. The 5’10 ½ tall Molina is thinking of venturing into the 140 pound division but states that Figueroa is a reason he’d stay at 135. [Click Here To Read More]

Molina is thirsty for a fight and so is Gamboa. Make it happen.

It's sad man, Gamboa could've been a superstar by now.

Idk lol. I stopped caring when the rumors of the PEDs surfaced. And I was already giving up before that cause of his inactivity so yea.

Because that would be a step backwards for him. He stopped Lundy's ****y ass. Doesn't matter what happened early in the fight. Instead of moving towards a title shot, maybe Molina get play stepping stone for Lundy and Bey.

I think Gamboa out boxes Molina. Figuaroa vs Molina has FOTY written all over it.

Figueroa vs Molina would be a great fight. But I don't see it happening soon. Figueroa injured his hand against Arakawa and it sounded like it was pretty bad too. Hopefully he sees a good specialist and can heal up soon but it doesn't sound like Figueroa will be back in the ring right away.

I could see Molina giving Gamboa some trouble but he would most likely lose a decision to Gamboa. The only reason I would give Molina a chance is because Gamboa has been inactive and he's a big strong lightweight. And he's definitely better than Darley Perez. But Molina was out boxed by Klimov and was being out boxed Lundy and Bey before he was able to turn those fights around. It's still a interesting fight.
