Sad state of affairs for the once great Roy Jones. An incredible fighter in his long prime and one of the best athletes I ever saw. Pride's a killer.

If only Roy Jones Jr were in his prime in this era of boxing and in the Junior Middleweight or Welterweight division a fight between him and Mayweather Jr would be too amazing to describe, too difficult to predict, but sure to be great.

Prime Roy would demolish pretty much anyone. I would favor him against anyone. Floyd is great and may very well have a greater career than Roy, but Roy at his peak was the closest thing to unbeatable.

Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. (56-8, 40KOs) has become the latest veteran to express their desire to fight the cash cow of boxing, WBC welterweight and WBA junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26KOs). Jones, 44-years-old, returns as a cruiserweight on December 4th in Philadelphia against Bobby Gunn. Recently, 48-year-old IBF light heavyweight champ Bernard Hopkins said he was willing to drop down to 160 for Mayweather. Jones is unable to get down that low, but he would go down as far as 170.
