Can anyone shed any light on the actual reasons? Thanks.
Why did Top Rank and GBP actually fall out?

Things were fine unti 2009.
Pacquiao vs Hatton was a GBP/TR co-promotion. And then after the Cotto fight, GBP started their smear campaign on Pacquiao and that's when they stopped working together.Comment

I don't remember since its been awhile, but did Mosley become a free agent for the Pacquiao fight then? I remember him having a strong affiliation with them.Comment

Had nothing to do with a smear campaign. Had everything to do with mannys simple minded ass signing with both companies.Comment

I guess tha explains why Jerry Jones wanted to put the PAC vs Floyd fight together, Arum was willing to negotiate with Scheffer, and flew to Texas, but at the last minute, Schaeffer flaked out and cancelled.Comment

It started with Oscar dipping to make his own company after Arum and him had a very successful relationship. So his biggest star became his biggest competition, using the star power Arum helped mold.
From there GBP got a lot of preferential treatment because Oscar was a big door opener, that allowed them to sign guys from other companies including Top Rank.
Then it comes to the whole Mayweather saga, where he aced Arum out then essentially works with GBP. Arum only cared a bit at the time because he didn't have much faith in Floyd being a big earner (he had faith in his talent though that is why he used Floyd's name to sell a lot of his guys) but over time as Floyd became the star that couldn't sit well with Arum who invested a lot in Floyd also.
Then you get to the Pacquiao saga which GBP signed Manny first with a suitcase full of cash then Top Rank got Manny to sign another contract which lead to a huge legal battle.
There was other stuff like the constant smack talking, Arum holding Oscar's gold medal hostage and other legal battles.
In short they have never gotten along and while the feeling is mutual Arum being jilted bitter old man has a lot to do with it.Comment

I just don't understand why people insist that Top Rank is to blame when evidence and records show that when Billionaire Jerry Jones was willing to bankroll a GBP/TR co-promotion, Arum flew from Vegas to Texas, while Schaeffer was a no show.It started with Oscar dipping to make his own company after Arum and him had a very successful relationship. Everything else is just theory and speculation.Comment

What does that have to do with anything I said.
Vegas would have paid more, Jones has money but Vegas has so much more to earn with any fight that no one can compete with them and make money. Arum knows that.
Where the fight was to be held wasn't the deal breaker~Comment
