The Leonard that fought Hearns was the best Leonard I ever saw. I never thought he was quite as good before or after that fight although he fought very well many times. I favor that Leonard to beat Floyd. Floyd was very sharp in his last fight at age 36.Floyd would beat Leonard if Leonard was even a bit off his best which he sometimes was.One thing I have no doubt about is that the 36 year old Floyd destroys the 36 year old Leonard. Leonard did not age well and Floyd seems to be almost as good as ever.Leonard was 34 I think, when he lost every round to Terry Norris.

Mayweather's got a hell of a lot of mileage out of beating some very ordinary fighters over the last decade. We've seen fights in which he has been tagged quite consistently, where he has been buzzed, yet we're supposed to believe that a dynamic offensive machine like Leonard, blessed with extrodinary speed, a fighter of real diversity and real variety in his attack is just going to plod forward for twelve rounds like a Canelo or a Guerrero?
Go and actually watch Leonard in his prime.

Most of the people picking SRL are saying it'd be close and have detailed why.
Most of the people picking Floyd are saying it'd be a blowout and have detailed its just because he's Floyd.
Its clear what people know and respect the sport and which do not.

to answer the question the way it is outlined, its possible fmj could beat the srl that came off the layoff, suffered the embarassing knockdown, and almost lost to kevin howard before cutting him down...i could see that happening...srl, would have to be coming off one of those long layoffs he was famous for...

Leonard outclasses him and stops him inside 8 very painful rounds for Floyd, but Hearns would beat him even easier i dont see Floyd hearing the bell for the 4th round against the Hitman.
Mayweather is a great fighter, its just that some are greater.

Floyd started at 130 and Leonard at 147, so I'm not completely sure this is a fair comparison. Leonard has the height and reach advantage by 2 inches, which isn't huge but in a fight like this could make a difference. Floyd has better defense but Ray has better offense. Tough fight to call imo. I'm leaning towards Floyd based on the fact that he is better defensively. I could see him avoiding more of Ray's shots than vice versa.

With a baseball bat. knuckledusters wouldn't have e been enough because if he got close enough to Leonard to use them, Leonard would be close enough to him to half- kill him with a blistering 6 punch combo before Phonius could blink..
