On Friday there was a meeting between Mateusz Masternak (30-1, 22 KOs) and his promoters Sauerland Event. The Polish cruiserweight is looking to regroup strong after suffering the first defeat of his career, an eleventh round TKO defeat to Grigory Drozd on the Klitschko vs. Povetkin undercard, which took place on October 5th in Moscow, Russia. After the fight was over, Masternak parted ways with his longtime trainer Andrzej Gmitruk . Initially, there speculation in the media that Gmitruk's place in the corner would be handled Michael Timm, but that rumor has been denied. One possible strong candidate is experienced coach and former champion Joey Gamache.
