I could see JMM beating Provo. Has everyone forgotten that Provo also lost to Mauricio Herrera? That's a style that can work against him as well. Herrera had a lot of success against Provo's style. Provo cuts, is easy to hit, not an unbeatable fighter. But his will is hard to break.

Juan Manuel Marquez vs Ruslan Provodnikov at Junior Welterweight is a great match of contrasting styles. I think it would be a war and difinitely a great fight, hope it happens early 2014.

Love my brother El Dinamita, all time great and 1st ballot HOF for sure but he's not equipped to deal with a young Prov right now. I love this kid, love how he fights, love what he says, love his nickname! The face to face with Provodnikov and Alvarado hosted by Max was epic, i loved every minute of it. Fight was over the second Mike sat down and Ruslan froze his brain with that ice glare.

i think provodnikov is the kinda fighter that makes marquez look good. some people in this thread say that jmm is done and would get stopped but he knows how to work them guys that come forward. provo wont dart in and out like bradley. jmm KO via vicious uppercut. that was a punch he had trouble landing on bradley due to bradley's movement and its one of marquez' best punches. he'll be able to get his combos off on a guy that comes right at him and doesnt go backwards or lateral

I sorta agree. As a huge Marquez fan i want to say the same thing, but can't confidently. Styles do make fights but Marquez style isn't at it's peak at his current age, his timing is off, reaction speed is slowed down, he would need to be on A-Game Marquez to fend off a young aggressive Provodnikov effectively. I see it being a real messy fight that Prov outlasts Marq in. But a prime Marquez against current Ruslan, Marquez FOR SURE!!
