my guess:
mayweather will fight pacquiao on his (mayweather's) last fight, before retiring.

reasons:
1. floyds last fight, even more reason to watch.
"Love me or hate me -- you're gonna watch me."
more $.

2. floyds very technical, time wont be as much a disadvantage for him as it is for speed reliant fighters (example: roy jones vs hopkins) that is not to say pacquiao is not technical.

3. pacquiao's speed (as with any other athelete) will only slow down as he ages.

This is a great post and very realistic. Speed demons such as Pacquiao often slow far quicker than guys who rely or slick defences such as Floyd Mayweather.

In all honesty, and I know this will sadden many fans, but the time when this fight was a true 50-50 split ala Frazier-Ali is long gone. What ever happens now will be purely financial.

Fight is still the biggest fight out there and it would shatter PPV and Gate records and bring the mainstream fans back to boxing and I'm pretty sure, blow this site up with new posters, etc...


Floyd is older, more dedicated to his craft, not on drugs, and has faced the better and fresher fighters over the last 6 years or so. Manny's only excuse is that he finally got exposed by another fighter who refused to be tested.
