It's what's going to happen. And you heard it hear 1st.
2much POWAH!!!! + a litany of glass jawed lumbering oafs floating around at the top of the division.
His power combined with his exceptional handspeed (for a man with his size & reach) is going to cancel out alot of his flaws and crudeness.
The only thing he really needs to SERIOUSLY work on is his balance & footwork and his defense when he's on the attack. Maybe adopt a Foreman cross-arm-esque technique as he's coming in with aggression so he doesn't get clipped flush with something outrageous. And with his power he doesn't really need to fight at range behind a jab, he should ALWAYS be going forward imposing his power on his opponent. Should be throwing to the body alot more as well. Headhunts way to much. I respect Mark Breland, but Wilder might want to dump him and find a trainer that can teach him a more aggressive style that's more suited for his attributes. One that can also help him work on his balance/footwork/positioning and help him tighten up them defensive holes as well.
But even today, as crude and flawed as he is... He destroys both Wlad and Vitali just based largely off of raw natural ability.

This boy is a MONSTER! He can beat any heavyweight out if he can take a punch and avoid taking too many of em cause any heavyweight can K.O. any heavyweight. Wilder can just do it faster than the rest of em!

Dear god
The US will get their much desired HW champ again one day. But it won't be any time soon. Speaking of glass-jawed lumbering oafs, I wonder what Wilder has been up to since that win. I heard his British twin, David Price, is looking to come back soon.
Want to see how he takes a punch. Was rocked by a jab (might have been a straight right) in the first round. If he has good whiskers, sky is the limit. He's still got a lot of learning ahead of him, but dude has that Randall Bailey punching power lol.

He's been dropped before, albeit the guy was supposed to be a huge puncher, he got up to defeat him. I saw a vid of him go down in the AMs too but almost everyone has been dropped at some point.
He seems a great personality Wilder, wouldn't do the sport any harm at all if he was the goods.
Deontay is great news for the sport....even as a European fight fan, I am happy to recognise that a big, charismatic and hard-hitting American heavyweight lifts the whole division and world title fights from Madison Square or Vegas create more buzz than yet another K brother fight from dull Dortmund, Hanover or god knows where else.
But I am keeping my powder dry on whether he wins a big belt....feasting on a big, slow beefsteak like Firtha is really no great shakes and we do need to see Deontay get in the ring with someone live, like Chris A or Chisora, sooner rather than later. If he can clear this kind of hurdle...then I start believing.
